Yoga has been misunderstood and misrepresented in many ways. Yoga is a lifestyle, a science that lends us a blueprint to a life in balance, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Yoga at Home

Hatha means balance and particularly refers to the need for balance between the energy of the Sun and Moon and further the balance within ourselves.

Hatha Yoga includes breathing and movement that build a strong foundation from which one can transition into new positions on and off out the yoga mat.  Hatha centers around control and precision expressed through diversity in asana and pranayama.  Practice the tools needed to lead a healthy and fit lifestyle through a combination of breath work, mindful movements, focus and meditation.

Yoga Truly loves children. Our Registered Children’s Yoga Teachers bring this scared practice to children ages 5-9.  We know that children are natural yogis, they breathe properly, live in the moment, thrive on creativity, and are filled to the brim with compassion. A fun, yet structured kids yoga practice nurtures and encourages these qualities as children grow. The children have so much fun, they don’t realize we are working on social and developmental skills such as brain balancing and sensory integration. Private classes are available for children struggling with anxiety, trauma or other stress related conditions.

Mother Doing Yoga with Baby

Yoga can allow postnatal students to focus on movements and breathing specifically tailored to a body after delivery. Special attention is placed on developing core strength and stability – involving a particular emphasis on strengthening the back, abdomen and pelvic floor, as well as relieving tension in areas such as the neck and shoulders
Previous yoga experience is not necessary to fully benefit, and women who have practiced yoga before will find these classes are a great way to transition back to their pre-pregnancy practice.
You are welcome to involve your baby in the movements or have them  close by on a blanket. Sometimes babies sleep all class, other times they may want to be fed and other times they are happy to see and hear the other babies around them. Fussing and crying is also totally normal, the babies are welcomed just as they are.
It is a good idea to wait for about 4 – 6 weeks after delivery before participating in postnatal yoga and 10 - 12 weeks if you have had a caesarian delivery (belly birth).
